As the number of WAZER machines in the field increases, we have expanded our Technical Support offering in order to improve your customer experience. An important part of WAZER’s growth plans is expanding our Channel’s to market. In 2020 we launched our domestic reseller program, focused on the education market segment when we on-boarded a total of 14 Value Added Resellers (“VARs”. We also dipped our toe in the International channel in 2020 by opportunistically onboarding a French partner mid year, with very promising results.
Along with all other US manufacturers who import parts from China, we were hit with a 25% part-cost increase due to the tariffs placed on Chinese imports back in 2018. This was particularly significant for WAZER, since we did not account for this unexpected cost when we launched the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2016.
For the first few years of WAZER the company operated out of massive google sheets that contained the full manufacturing operations of the business. Eventually as the company matured and the complexity of our operations increased the next logical step was to use a commercial MRP (material resource planner) to manage the tracking of all parts, manufacturing orders, and inventory.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of living next to a freight railway, you know that every time a train starts moving again after a stoppage, the event is accompanied by a startling and earth shaking clatter of cars and connectors screeching back to life.
By the end of 2020, WAZER units were shipped to 46 countries across the world. We are definitely onto something not only do we hear demand from all over the world, but we fulfill it and know the product and mission are spreading everywhere.
WAZER V1.5 is now available for the North American market. Original form factor and sleek aesthetic package of the original WAZER was largely maintained.
Since WAZER began we only sold directly to end users. Our first customers were our Kickstarter backers in 2016 and until late 2019 have been selling WAZER exclusively online with the help of our inside sales team
