WAZER Suddenly Turns Off - Low Water Level

WAZER is constantly monitoring the water level. If the water level gets too low at any point, a safety shutoff switch (Low Kill switch) will activate to prevent the tank from getting damaged by the jet. The power can also cut out but the water level will seem normal, in this case see the second check. If you hear WAZER abruptly shut off, or if it powers down in the middle of a cut, we suggest you do the following: 

Check: Is there water underneath the Wazer?

  • Root Cause. If Wazer has spent a long time cutting on one spot where there is no material, it is possible for the jet to damage the tank bottom and cause leak.

  • Corrective Action: Cut power into the main unit and pump box, drain the tank immediately. Contact Wazer Support for the next steps.

Check: Does the Machine turn back on after a few minutes?

  • Root Cause: If the rear baffle is clogged with abrasive it is possible that the water level in the drain filter area to be drained while the main tank is still at a normal water level. After the main unit shuts off due to low water level in the drain filter area, water from the main tank may rush in and fill the void, restarting the machine. Please Run the Rear Baffle Quick Check to be sure

  • Corrective Action: Do a Full Tank Clean, pay great attention to the baffle.

Check: Is the middle float sensor stuck?

  • Root Cause: It is possible that the middle float sensor can get jammed into place in the filter pit. The middle float informs what the real time water level is. If it is stuck on the "high" position, the controller will engage the drain system all the time, and excessively drain water out from the tank.

  • Corrective Action: Clean any debris from the switch and ensure the float is able to move freely. If issue persists, contact Wazer Support for the next steps.

Check: Does the middle float switch work?

  • Root Cause: While the switch is a simple device it can still malfunction or the connector can get messed up. If it is sending "high" signal to controller while the water level is actually low, the machine will excessively drain the tank and trigger the low kill.

  • Corrective action: Navigate to Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Input Output Check > Input > Water Level Sensor. After checking the Input check, please navigate to Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > Water Level Setup. If sensor is not reading, or the resulting water level is more than 1 inch below cut bed level, contact Wazer Support for a next step.

Check: Is the drain rate too high?

  • Root Cause: WAZER relies on timing and a float sensor to manage the water level. If the drain rate is too high, the low sensor can trip during draining. This can also happen if your drain line is extremely short or if somehow there is suction on the line.

  • Corrective Action: Conduct a water level setup by navigating to Setup & Maintenance > Maintenance > water level set up. While the drainage system is engaging under this mode please measure the peak drain rate. Then contact Wazer Support for a next step

Check: Is there debris build up on the Middle Level Water Sensor?

  • Root Cause: The additional weight of the abrasive will hold the sensor down even if the water level is within the correct range.

  • Corrective Action: Thoroughly clean the sensor to remove all abrasive or cut particles.
