Used Abrasive Collection Troubleshooting

During cutting, abrasive is constantly injected into the tank. To prevent excessive accumulation of used abrasive on the bottom of the tank, the low pressure system of WAZER collects those particles and transports them into the used abrasive buckets. These buckets fill up after about 90 minutes of cutting at which point the WAZER will stop cutting and display a "Fill Abrasive Hopper and Empty Used Abrasive Buckets" message. Refer to the steps below to empty out the used abrasive buckets.

1. Remove the used abrasive buckets from the tank by pulling the metal handle to a vertical position and lifting upwards. Empty into a trash receptacle.

2. Once the buckets are empty, make sure that there is no abrasive built up at the bottom of the bucket docking area. If there is abrasive built up here, clear out the area so that the buckets can fully sit in the proper location.

3. When you are ready to put the buckets back into the tank, once more pull the metal handle to a vertical position and insert the buckets downwards. When they are in place, push the handle forward so that the buckets lock in place. Adding water to the buckets before putting them back into the tank will make this a lot easier.

4. When cutting with a higher water level, particularly in submerged mode, make sure that waves caused by putting the used abrasive buckets back into the tank do not trigger the HI kill float switch in the back left of the machine. This can be prevented by lowering the water level or just slowly and carefully loading the buckets back into the machine.

If the abrasive collection efficiency drops or the collection completely stops, refer to the information on the hydraulic cavity. Additionally, do not expect any abrasive collection during the first 3 hours of cutting as it takes time for the abrasive to build up at the bottom of the machine before the collection system activates. It is normal to see a small amount of abrasive surrounding the pickup filters at the bottom of the machine.
