Replacing the Abrasive Hose

In some rare occurrence, the abrasive hose can get damaged by nozzle stream or high speed abrasive spray. In other more common cases, the abrasive hose may get worn over time. In preparation of this issue, WAZER includes an abrasive hose in the nozzle kit. This guide will teach you how to replace the worn or damaged abrasive hose

Tool Needed:

  • Wire Snipper

  • Cable Tie

  • Replacement Hose (provided by WAZER)

Procedure

1. Clean the tank gasket, try to remove as much used abrasive as possible

2. Unplug the abrasive hose from the cutting head/nozzle assembly.

3. Thread the hose through the cable tie that holds the abrasive hose to the high pressure hose. Cut the cable tie if necessary

4. Remove the abrasive hose from the 4-way cable tie.

5. Pull the old abrasive hose from the back of the machine, pulling the hose through the wire grommet

6. Release the cable tie downs that anchor the abrasive hose onto the abrasive hopper.

7. Unplug the abrasive hose from the rubber catcher.

8. Unpack the new abrasive hose

9. Thread one end through the cable tie on the high pressure hose

10. Seat the new abrasive hose into the 4-way cable tie

11. Thread another end through the tank gasket

12. Pull the end outside the tank. Make sure the length outside the tank is at least 70cm/27inches

13. Anchor the hose on cable ties downs. Do not tighten the tie downs enough to pinch the hose. Let it sit in a loose manner

14. Put the hose end back into the Rubber Catcher

15. Check if any of the cable ties are pressing into the hose too hard. If the cable tie on the high pressure hose is too tight, use the wire snipper to cut it, and replace it with a new one.

16. Refer to this page to check the wire bundle/whip motion. Make sure the abrasive hose does not separate with other cables and hoses, and make sure the wire bundle whip does not moves down when compressed.
