Welcome Cuts

Setting up your first cut on your new WAZER

In this article you will learn:

  • What the preloaded Welcome Cuts look like

  • How the preloaded Welcome Cuts function

Congrats on setting up your WAZER! We’ve prepared several Welcome Cuts for you to perform so you can hit the ground running and learn how the machine operates! This page is a gallery detailing what each cut looks like and what they are used for.

All of the pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Multitool

The Multitool Welcome Cut is the recommended first cut to perform on your new WAZER. The two ends of the tool will be heavily used during day-to-day use of your machine.

The smaller forked end of the Multitool is used as a Cut Bed Screw Extractor. Once your cut bed degrades over time, these screws can prove very difficult to remove without this tool.

The larger forked end of the Multitool is used as a Push-to-Connect hose fitting disconnect tool. These fittings are found in multiple places in WAZER’s plumbing.

NYC Skyline

The NYC Skyline Welcome Cut is a demonstration of the detail that WAZER is capable of producing while also paying homage to the city that we call home.

Bottle Opener

The Bottle Opener Welcome Cut is a utilitarian cut that features a keychain hole so that it can be easily carried wherever needed. The hook can be used to open bottle caps while featuring WAZER’s full logo.

Joint Demo

The Joint Demo Welcome Cut is a single piece compliant joint that can be bent by hand. Although the DXF’s used to design cut files are 2D, there is a whole other dimension that can be explored with WAZER using intelligently designed joints and other assembly methods.

Jeep Profile

The Jeep Welcome Cut is a simple showpiece that is part of a larger whole; on the WAZER website in the Downloads page, a cut file for four wheels can be found and small bolts can be used for axles in order to produce a moving toy.

All of these files have been loaded onto the SD Card included with the machine, so all you have to do is load the card into the machine, prep the machine to cut, and you’ll be well on your way to making your first cuts!

The work instructions and file for the multitool will be provided so users can feel free to customize the tool to their liking or for different uses. We have also provided the DXF files for all the other Welcome Cuts so users can make changes as they see fit, whether that be customizing the cut profile or switching the material profile in WAM.
