Flipping or Replacing the Cut Bed

The cut bed’s job is to hold the material securely and evenly while the cutting is underway . It is a piece of consumable and needs to be flipped or replaced regularly when it cannot fulfill its function. If your cut bed is worn on one side, while the other side is untouched, you may remove the cut bed and flip it; if both sides cannot hold material securely, you need to replace the cut bed with a new one.

[CAUTION] the edges of the cut bed can be sharp and a worn cut bed can trap pieces of the material you have been cutting. We recommend wearing gloves whenever you handle the cut bed.

Required Tools

  • Cut bed adjustment tool, or a 6mm allen key (both included in the tool kit)

  • A Phillips screwdriver.

  • A waterproof tarp, box, or tray

  • PPE (Gloves, masks, eye goggles)

Parts needed

  • A new Cut Bed (if needed)

Procedure

Remove cut bed

Turn off WAZER and push the Nozzle to the back of the machine

Remove the holding nuts and holding screws for the Absolute locating Jig. Remove the Jig from the machine.

Using the provided Cut Bed Tool, remove the four Cut Bed Bolts that hold the Cut Bed to the Tank.

These Cut Bed Bolts are below the water line, so if you just got done cutting, they may be a bit difficult to see with the murky water.

Put on gloves.

Remove the rubber guard on the side rails

Grab onto the Cut Bed Rails, pull the Cut Bed forward first, then tilt the rear end out.

This allows the cutting bed baffle to clear the side wall mounts.

A large amount of abrasive and water will leak out of the Cut Bed.

This will continue for some time after removal

We suggest  you acquire a waterproof container (a bin or industrial garbage bag) large enough to hold the Cut Bed.

Lift the Cut Bed out of the Tank and into the container.

Flip or replace the Cut Bed:

With the Cut Bed on top of the tarp, plastic bag or container, Flip the Cut Bed upside down, so the worn side on is facing away from you

Remove all the screws holding the brackets to the side of the Cut Bed

16 screws on the side facing you

4 more screws on the left and right side.

Remove the Cut Bed Baffle.

Flip the Cut Bed again.

With the worn side now facing you, put in the screws holding the brackets.

If both sides of the Cut Bed are worn, dispose of it and grab a new Cut Bed.

Please use care when inserting the screws as they will easily strip in the Cut Bed. Screw until snug.

Put in the screw holding the Cut Bed Baffle .

Clean the tank

Do a thorough Tank Cleaning cycle while the Cut Bed is removed.

If you have been running long cuts, or if you have not been running additional Tank Cleaning cycles after cuts, there may be some used abrasive buildup in the bottom of the Tank.

Take this opportunity to scoop out the excess abrasive from the bottom of the Tank. Or measure the amount of accumulation using the ruler method.

Clean the Magnetic Drain Filters

Remove the Magnetic Drain Filters from their holder, rinse away the accumulated silt on the filter netting.

If there is buildup on the magnet, you can remove the magnet to wipe clean if necessary.

Run a tank cleaning cycle

Check to make sure the Cut Bed Mounts have Cut Bed Springs around their top.

If they do not, they may have fallen off the Cut Bed Mounts during disassembly, so you may need to dig around in the Tank for them

Put back the cut bed

Lower the Cut Bed into the Tank. Tilt the back of the Cut Bed with the baffle down to help clear the cut bed mounts on the tank wall.

Align the Cut Bed Side Rails with the Cut Bed Mounts and Springs so the bolts may be fastened.

Tighten the Cut Bed Bolts down until you feel resistance from the Cut Bed Springs, then turn each bolt one more full turn.

When tightening Cut Bed Bolts, if at any point you feel an abnormal amount of resistance, stop, back the Cut Bed Bolts out and attempt to clean out the threads.

It is likely that abrasive has been caught and is preventing you from tightening the Cut Bed Bolt

Reassemble the Absolute Locating Jig onto the Cut Bed.

Refer to the instructions to reset the (0,0) point

You are now ready to Level your Cut Bed.
